Why Start Therapy?
I view therapy as a gift we can give to ourselves and a valuable opportunity for self-growth and healing. Life is full of challenges, loss, and unexpected events, which affects each of us in different ways. Therapy can be a chance to better understand ourselves, our emotions, and our behaviors in relation to our past and current struggles. It is also a chance to process, to learn to cope, and find ways to navigate through these experiences in more effective and helpful ways. We all want to be at peace, find connection, and live fully. Therapy can be part of how we work towards the life we want and find healing.
My Approach and Focus
I have primarily focused on working with adults who have gone through significant traumatic experiences and I am trained in Cognitive-Processing Therapy (CPT), a proven trauma treatment approach that does not require clients to recount their trauma. I utilize other modalities to support people in healing including mindfulness, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), among others.
I am also skilled in working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, attachment issues and various other interpersonal challenges. The hope is to help you uncover your own strength and resilience, and to continue to build on that in order to live more fully.
I strive to have a warm and supportive approach and use trauma-informed principles, due to working for most of my career with trauma survivors. But I also aim to help clients recognize patterns and behaviors that may be holding them back, or to identify how their histories may be impacting their present.
It is my goal to create a welcoming and affirming environment for people of all backgrounds. Our society is structured in a way that creates barriers for many, and some face daily struggles based solely on their identity. This can be an added layer of stress and trauma to navigate. I incorporate this knowledge into my work and strive to support my clients with curiosity and culturally-responsive care.

I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments. My personal preference is to work in-person, as I feel it is easier to connect with clients and build a strong therapeutic alliance but I know that commuting and other life obligations can make that difficult so I am open to whatever works best for you.

You may schedule your initial 20-minute video consultation* by completing the form below. My goal is to respond to inquiries within two (2) business days.
*Please note that an initial phone consultation does not guarantee a therapy appointment nor constitute a therapeutic relationship. If you are experiencing a mental health or psychiatric emergency, please dial 9-1-1, call the mental health crisis line at 9-8-8 or head to the nearest Emergency Department.

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other better, for me to understand what you are hoping to gain from therapy, and determine if/how I might be able to help. I will likely ask more questions than in a regular session because I will need to gather some information about your history and current circumstances. Then we can discuss whether we are a good fit to work together on an ongoing basis.
